Using a hacksaw, the artisan cuts "coins" from the tines of the deer antler. The cut pieces are then hand sanded to a flat level surface to allow designs to be drawn and painted. To protect and add durability of the items, the artisan applies 2 layers of resin to the front surface.
Holes for the jump rings are drilled. Adornments and findings such as jump rings, head pins, gemstones and silver coated or copper lever-back closures are chosen to give each creation it's "life."
