Youth Trainee Program

The Cedar Basket offers a youth training program. It is a program with a hands on approach to learning the fundamentals of the Retail industry while promoting our authentically handmade products and the arts of our First Nations, Inuit, Indigenous & Métis peoples.

We offer training on POS Systems, inventory processing, customer service and working effectively within a team.

The youth get hands on experience using Shopify (our POS System), cash handling, and trouble shooting when errors arise.

The Cedar Basket often vendors at outbound and in house shows at the Native Canadian Centre. We invite and involve youth through the entire process, so they can get experience on how to run a table and be a vendor.

The trainee program is for youth to get hands on retail experience to help better their resumes and get references to help them better navigate the workforce.
